Lateral Flow Contract Development Using RDS-2500 Reader
Here at Lateral Dx we are delighted to announce that we can now carry out lateral flow contract development using the advanced RDS-2500 reader. This handheld, portable instrument offers comprehensive functionality for rapid laboratory diagnostics and field-based testing across a wide variety of industry applications.
The RDS-2500 Reader Benefits
This sophisticated reader is an excellent choice as it delivers fully quantitative results with high-precision strip detection in just 5 seconds. The device features a highly customisable cartridge port and detection algorithms to accommodate a wide variety of industry standard test strips and assay configurations.
Compact yet powerful, the RDS-2500 weighs less than 500g and measures 21 x 10 x 10cm, making it easily transportable and perfect for field use. With its modern touchscreen interface and automated calibration system, results are obtained quickly and accurately every time.
Particularly noteworthy is the reader’s multi-spectral detection system which is beneficial when working with different signal particles and developing assays for challenging sample types. This technology allows us to push the boundaries of what’s possible with lateral flow testing while maintaining the simplicity that makes these assays so valuable.
Ideal for situations where visual interpretation can lead to ambiguous results, the RDS-2500 provides objective, quantitative measurements that eliminate subjective assessment and ensure consistent, reproducible testing outcomes. Test results can be stored internally (over 2,000 results) and transferred electronically to cloud data management systems instantly via Wi-Fi or USB connectivity.
Enhanced Development Services
Technical Director Steven Lamont highlighted the main benefits of using the RDS-2500 for Lateral Dx customers:
“The quantitative capabilities of the RDS-2500 have been a step up for our contract services. The reader’s ability to work with both single-strip and multi-strip cartridges, combined with its interchangeable inserts, allows us to customise testing protocols for virtually any client requirement.”
Steven also noted the documentation benefits: “Additionally, the RDS-2500’s ability to capture and save high-quality images of each test strip provides invaluable documentation during the development process, allowing our team to review strip performance, track progress, and provide clients with visual evidence of assay improvements over time. All this gives us the flexibility to offer highly accurate, reliable solutions across multiple industries.”
